International FASD Awareness Day Activities In Our Region

During the month of September, our Network staff attended many event’s to bring awareness to FASD. Some events were hosted as an individual event, whereas some of us joined other events that were already happening in some communities!!

Westlock Community Showcase

Westlock held their Annual Community Showcase! The spin wheel game, info, & free giveaways were a huge hit! Thank’s to Yvette, Jenn, & Sharon for reaching out to as many as 100 people on September 6th!!

 

Edson Awareness Day Sept 8 2017

Sherri See created her own FASD Awareness Day event at one of the local high schools in Edson. She wanted to show the student’s, staff and general public as many of the different services that could be involved to support someone living with FASD and their families. We reached about 110 student’s, staff, and public that day!

 

Hinton Awareness Day

Hinton held their Annual Awareness Day at the Community Registration Fair with great success as well. They had free mock tails, swag, and info packets. They had 450 adults and children attend the registration fair. Great Job Guys!!!

 

Slave Lake Awareness Day

Slave Lake held a BBQ at the Town Hall on September 8th.They also had close to 100 attendees as well!! Great Job!!!

 

Swan Hills Awareness Day

NWC FASD Network teamed up with two of our leadership team members, along with P.A.W.S., and FCSS. They had a hot dog lunch, freebies to give away, mock tails to hand out, and a presentation done by the WRAP coach for the area’s school division!! They reached over 100 student’s and community members!! Job Well Done!!
